I can, I do, I like.

Edit: Scratch that. I can get BBC America but not the 'real' BBC channels.

I get it through Freesat.

Subscription? has something changed or am I missing something?
(Probably the latter!)

I think it may be part of an extra HD pack, but yes I subscribe and enjoy.

Cox Cable provides BBC America HD as part of the basic digital service (i.e. you need a cable box to get it.).

Not here in AZ. I have to pay for one of the digital tiers in order to get BBCA. What really bites is BBCA is the only channel in that tier that I watch or care about. It is available in both SD and HD.

I could be wrong. I've just always had it. Maybe they put me on that particular tier or I was grandfathered in some time ago. Which tier is it?

I wish Cox Cable would supply it where I live (Orange County, Ca.) - I've only been sending them emails for 3 years lol

In the US it's called Tier one, Tier two, Tier three etc. BBC HD almost NEVER comes for free. Even if your cable company supplies it in their HD "package", the HD package usually requires that you "subscribe" to it, aka pay money.

It's not free. You have to pay for a tv license.

If only.

It's 145.50 UKP p.a. and you have to pay it whether or not you watch any BBC output.

Edit: But you can still get a Black & White licence for just 49 UKP if you only have mono equipment!
