PAL Menu too large
Hi,
I'm currently testing Sage TV on my PVR 350 and finally got a PAL resolution with the registry key (NTSC=0) found in this forum. But now the menu is displayed too large on my TV. It seems that 10-20 pixels are missing on each side. I tried to play around with the stretch settings in the aspect ratio settings, but they had no effect. Are there other PAL users out there, who have solved this problem? |

I'm not a PAL users but a quick forum search turned up this advice:
In your "sage.properties" file change the following line: pvr350_osd_locked_height=480 into: pvr350_osd_locked_height=576 Edit:Oh, and another one from forum search about changing UI: Main Menu/Setup/Detailed Setup/Multimedia/Overscan Settings As always all changes to the properties file should be done with SageTV closed. Sleep does not count, it must be fully closed. If this doesn't work I'm sure a PAL user will be around shortly.

Hi,
thanks for the fast reply. Unfortunately I have already set the correct PAL height, otherwise I would see a large black rectangle below the picture. I have used the overscan settings, but I'm only able to move the picture around. I need something to shrink it. Especially the width is too large. I can't see the first charcters on the left side and the clock at the right side simulanously. |

Strange,
It should use your placement of the upper left corner(first step) and then the placement bottom right corner(second step) to properly calculate the UI height, width and position. Are you sure you are moving the UI until the entire UI is onscreen in both steps. Maybe even go one or two steps(clicks of the arrows) too far and then go back a step. Since you say the UI is slightly off the left and right sides, you'd mainly want to adjust the right arrow in step one and the left arrow in step two. If you do this for both the upper left and the bottom right it should be able to properly adjust the UI. If this doesn't work you'll have to what until a PAL user stops by. Best of luck sorry I couldn't help more.

You are so right! Now the picture fits perfectly my tv-screen. :-)
Ok, now I'm ready for the next hurdle, the EPG data for german tv stations... ;-) |

Glad to here it.
Have fun with XMLTV. Seriously, it wasn't that bad to setup. I used it way waaayy back, when Frey used to charge for US EPG service. I guess I'm just a cheapskate.
