you may be right... but with an 80mm fan on the tv card directly.. in fact sod that i've even put a whole desk fan pointing into my case once... i dont think i was ever able to get the card cold... others seem to be able to have a cold card...

you are right tho... better airflow is pretty important... its just fighting against the noise is made that much harder with each fan you add.... i am happy with the current setup with a fan on the card... the thing is i wanted to put it in a hushpc.. which is a completely fanless machine... totally enclosed... this just doesn't look feasible at the moment

While my card is pretty hot, I guess I am just not THAT worried about it. MOST electronic componants that are on a PCB don't fail at relatively low heats that are still considered "hot" to the touch.

The big/wierd issue is that it's the BOARD that gets hot. Somethin funky there.

I'm not too panicky about it. The way I see it, it's a 100 dollar card, and if it fries a year from now, there will undoubtedly be something better on the market for a hundred bucks.

I brought a thermometer probe and its sitting on my card now... heavily cooled (1x120mm fan, and 1x80mm fan) its running at 45 degrees C... I will drop the cooling options as the machine is slightly more audible than i'd like... and see where the temperature goes from there.
