Moving Sage to a new machine

I searched for the answer but couldn't find anything. I've built a new HTPC and want to move Sage over to it with both of my tuner cards from the original PC + all the recorded files.

Can I just do base install of sage and then copy the properties and wiz.bin files to the new installation - along with moving the turner cards over and copying over the recorded files to the same directory structure?

Thanks,
tsw

If you move the Sage install to the new machine, you will need to have the storage in the EXACT same path as it was on old machine, otherwise you will have problems, worst would be loss of show data, glitches with wrong paths would be stops during playback.

Unless someone else says differently, I would think that wold work. As long as SageTV can find the recording files in exactly the same directory where it thinks they should be, you should be fine. If there are issues with the properties, you may want to simply delete it & start fresh. Definitely keep wiz.bin, though.

If you ever change the name of the computer that SageTV is running on, you should also set this property once:
make_all_mediafiles_local=true

So it fixes the database entries regarding what machine the files reside on (used for streaming purposes).

Does this mean that you could change the path names of recordings and still keep the EPG information in Sage 2? You couldn't do this in Sage 1 without manually editing wiz.bin, and then only if the path was the same length. So, for example, could you move a recording from D:\SageRecordings to E:\RecordingsMadeBySage\ and still retain the EPG date for the recording by just changing that property?
