Dual Display, UI on one, Vid on the other, Possible?
I'm taking Sage for a whirl again...
Got it working, Wondering how to configure it such that the video goes to one display and the UI stays on the other. Why? The machine is accross the room, behind the TV, I operate it thru RealVNC. Have a nV 5200 w/ the 2nd display sent to S-Vid->TV set. Is possible or not? {yes, I know I could use the 350's output now that there is support, but since nothing else supports it I'd have to cable swap when I watch a movie - NOT.} |

I'm not clear on why don't you want the UI on the TV from the output of the video card... and simply control it all from a remote.

umm, because it's one more device I have to configure and I probably already have a mouse in my hand.
My workstation is 2 computers, both dual head into 20" LCDs. I've got plenty of real estate to have Rvnc running. Sometimes doing other things w/ that box as well. It's ok with me if there is an option to turn the OSD on the TV, but I really need the UI avail on the primary display. And last but certinly not least, it's a whole lot faster for me to mouse thru screens than try to make the remote into a mouse. A task I'll perhaps tackle at a later date. |

I see. Then, I would look into setting your video card to do full screen video (in the nvidia driver) from the SageTV window, or at least clone the display onto the 2nd monitor instead of running in Dualview mode, if that is what you are using now. Check your nvidia driver options in Display Properties -> Settings tab -> Advanced -> GeForce tab. It has been a while since I ran an nvidia driver that way, so I don't rmember exact settings.

Video Mirror is the setting you are looking for (it's been a while).

Guys,
I have the opposite problem ![]() I want video & the UI displayed on both monitors, currently video displays on both but the UI ONLY displays on the primary monitor. I still want dual monitors (1 LCD panel & 1 projector) as I don't want to have to fire up the projector to play music and stuff, the vid card is a radeon 9600

You'll want to set your Video card to clone mode.

Try default or VMR9 for your video renderer, many video cards only support overlay on one monitor.

turn on 3d acceleration with VMR 9 or do overlay with no 3 D acceleration
