Migrating my 'wiz.bin' from 1.4.10 to 2.0?

If I decide to format my machine clean and install 2.0, can I save my 1.4.10 'wiz.bin' files and use them in the new version? I've got a bunch of taped shows right now on my video drives that I'd hate to lose the pointers for.

Also, will the 'wiz.bin' also have my favorites saved or is that the Sage.properties file? If Sage.properties, can that import as well?

I think I could upgrade over 1.4.10, but there's some other hiccups I'd like to try and address anyway....

Thanks!

Jason

you can but why not just start fresh with the STV customizations you can go back and set all the recording you do not want to record again with malore's STV
or just not add the favorite again

I don't think you would have to install over v1.4, but I would certainly save that wiz.bin & copy it back to your SageTV directory before running it. Be sure your video files stay in the same directories they were in before. You may want to check out another thread (Moving Sage to a new machine) to check out the comment there about what to do if you change the machine's name.

The favorites & so on are in wiz.bin. You could try re-using the properties file, but with a completely new installation, you may be better off simply reconfiguring SageTV & creating a new properties file in the process.

Cool - thanks guys! I don't mind reconfiguring the properties (record quality, decoders, etc.), it was importing all the existing recordings and favorites I was more concerned about.

Thanks again!
