Have sound but black screen
I have a black screen but there is sound. I did a little research and I think that I have turn off 3D acceleration. However I can't get to the setup screen. When I start Sage it goes directly to live TV (this never happened before it always went to the main menu.) I hit ctrl-O and nothing happens (that I can see, again it is a black screen.) I uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the settings must be saved somewhere because I have the same problem. I have restarted the PC. I need to know how to get to the main menu. This started after I recorded a show last night and left the PC on. Any help is appreciated.

Try pressing "Home" to get to the main menu.

When SageTV isn't running, you can try editing the properties file to make sure this is set to turn 3D acceleration off:
ui/accelerated_rendering=false - Andy

Thanks Andy, that worked. Also , the "home" button didn't work but also thanks stranger89. I have found that with 3D acceleration eneabled it works initially but if I stop and then start SageTV, I get that black screen with audio unless I use the Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder. The other decoders i have are the ones that came with WinDVD and PowerDVD. I don't have time to really research this but I assume it is a known problem that I will look into when I have the time.
