Want to switch, need help.
I have a HVR-1600 that works perfectly for Sage using both the Digital Antenna and External Capture. However, I cannot get SAge to detect my HVR-950Q. I am a current Beyond TV user and I wanted to switch. WIth 5 days left of my trial I cannot switch until I can get the 950Q working. After a few days of troubleshooting the 950q started working fine for about two weeks. I was using it for straigh analog cable from my provider. All of a sudden it wont detect channels any longer and I am not quite sure of how it started to work the first time. Are there any special downloads or problems with the 950q I should be aware of?

If you had an image of the computer, you could easy recover back to the point in time when SageTV was working perfectly in less than 30 minutes. SageTV could run for years without problems or the system might fail tomorrow. You never know when computer problems could begin. The safest way is to be prepared to recover the system before the problems occur. If an image recovery does not work, then you know you have a hardware problem. It's important to be able to isolate the problem between hardware and software.
I don't have a 950Q. You might check "devices" to make sure there are no unrecognized devices. You could try removing the Hauppauge device drivers and re-install them. Dave |

the 950q is listed on SageTV's website as officially supported...
http://sagetv.com/requirements.html?sageSub=tv so you could always open a support ticket around the issue. |

Are you sure the analog channels are still there? Many cable companies are dropping ALL analog channels.

That's pretty much the message I got from Charter when I ordered the Cablecard the other day, so it might be a good idea to check with your provider unless you can get them with a coax plugged directly into the TV.
