Is buying Keys from a pro-integrator still ok?
Dumb question: There are pros out there who install SageTV for a living. (well, other stuff too, not just sage). Is buying a SageTV 7 key from them still legal?
I would think so, its not transferring a license from one user to another, rather from someone who was authorized by Frey to sell before G-Day. Any contract between integrator & Frey would be absorbed by Google. It's funny, I actually asked my legal department this same question *yesterday*, because a vendor I was about to bring in to perform some significant work for me got bought by someone else. I got through 99.99% of the contract negotiation/wordsmithing/etc, and a few hours before I was to sign the deal the acquisition was announced. I was told I could still sign a contract with the old company until final closing, which inevitably takes 30-60 days post-announcement. |

Unless those pros can prove they have a different licensing/distribution deal with Frey, then they are no different than the rest of us.

Actually they probably bought volume licensing and therefore still have licenses to sell that haven't been used/sold yet. I know sage had volume license deals (10 or more something like that)
