Who just joined the V7 crew :-)

Thanks to Narflex for giving a free upgrade to V7 for those of us with V5 or V6 keys, I just joined the V7 crew. Works great!

And watch out, phoenix boys, my first act was to really wonder what all the phoenix hype was about, so I downloaded that. If I'm going to shock the wife with a new GUI (8 years later, we're *still* on the stock Sage GUI), I may as well rip the bandaid off and go straight to that.

Who else is jumping in?

haven't tried phoenix, not sure I want to mess with a beta, and I quite happen to like diamond...
but after a few more people work out all the bugs, I may give it a try, just to see what all the fuss is about...
anyone know how well SMM integrates? gotta have SMM...

v7.0 has been out of beta for months. It's v7.1 that was in beta until last week.

I tried the V7 code, but I'm getting java related errors. My V6 works great, I substitute the executables, and it won't run. I've tried some other versions of Java without success. My very last try was 1.4 runtime and when I started SageTV V7, it coughed up a 'Want to notify Microsoft?' message and won't run. I put the V6 files back in and it is running fine.

If anyone can point to the right version of Java, and any fundamental instructions. If I need to clean install V6, and start from there, that's actually ok, I need to restructure my drives anyway.

And, I am sorry if this information is blatently posted somewhere. I did find a thread but the links were all obsolete and dead.

Thank you kindly for any assistance.

Isn't the current version of java at like 1.6.26 or something?

I'm way behind that one... running something like 1.6.19. Updating Java has always been one of those things I don't do unless it's absolutely necessary.

That's the latest 1.6.26, I installed that and it shows that in SageTV help info. I'll try V7 again tonight.
