BMT actually supports cmd commands?

From the BMT webinterface i can ask SageTV to look for new media with a mouseclick.

I'm not much for mouse clicks and such, so i was wondering if there on my sagetv-server is a command i can run which will make SageTV go look for new media?

Look at http://yourserver:yourport/sagex/api. It will give u a lot of all comands available via the sagexapi. I believe ther is one for starting the media library scan.

Typically, to invoke a url from the commandline, you'd need another command line tool, like wget, but using a programming language, you have much more flexibility in how you want to communicate, handle errors, etc. (not that you've used one api... the sky is the limit as to what you can do, since the entire sagetv api is exposed over http
