Sony NSX46GT1 (Google TV) + Sony HT-CT150 (Sound Bar) + Sage HD300
The lamp finally died in my 6 year old rear projection DLP Samsung. I was waiting for that day so I could buy a TV to hang on the wall.
This is in my bedroom, so I decided to try a Google TV. It happens that the NSX46GT1 has the bare-bones features I want [60mhz, LED, 1080p] and Google TV [intel cpu, wifi, RF keyboard remote]. The apps are interesting, but I really only use Chrome and Netflix. Market is not available until the next OS. It looks like 2.0 of Google OS is making progress: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/08...gle-tv-leaked/ I wonder how long until there is a SageTV app in the Market? I can't imagine they would hold-back a release until there was a 1:1 replacement for an HD300. ... deploy with incremental phases: phase 1 to browse and stream recordings phase 2 to integrate the guide and live tv phase 3 to manage server settings and favorites etc. I got the Sound Bar for ripped blue-rays I watch via Sage to decode the audio. It sounds great. HD300->Soundbar woofer<->TV The TV and Soundbar support ARC, so the TV turns on/off the soundbar and send vol+/- ... via HDMI. The TV also sends audio to the soundbar ... like when streaming a movie from NetFlix. The Harmony 300 controls the TV and Sage ... durable remote with long battery life and only $30. $1300 delivered ... for 46" TV + wall mount + power kit + long hdmi cable (for in-wall) + sound bar w/ woofer |

Well, if it was possible to install non-Market app, my TaSageTV app could be used, though I might need to make some small modifications...

Or you could just finally get around to putting it on the market....

We have actually started to put stuff on The Market, but I still have a major rewrite to do on TaSageTV first before I can think of putting it there, which isn't exactly top priority... I basically need to start using fragment/action bar in it for Android 3.x, with the official backward compatibility library for fragment and some third party backward compatibility action bar...

The problem is the population is limited to those with a SagetV server and [an android tablet / google tv / logitech revue / sony internet blue-ray]. In that, what price point would be appropriate? |
