Any way of doing this with BMT?

I have about 1200 movies in an arrangement like this:

Movie Drive/MOVIES/anymovie/anymovie.avi, anymovie.properties, folder.jpg

I recently realized the benefits of just having all the movies and their respective properties file and thumbnail in the root folder. Right now I have to navigate an additional folder level for each movie to play it or view it's metadata.

Not too long ago I had issues after a clean install where I disabled BMT's ability to download fanart (i prefer my own thumbnails). The side-effect of this was that BMT fetched fanart for every file in my entire library and named it for each file IE: (3:10 to Yuma.jpg). Well the results of this were terrible because it made sagetv have to load more than 12,000 thumbnails in folder view.

My Question:

Is there anyway I can get BMT (or something else) to do what I did by accident, and go to each movie folder and rename "folder.jpg" "anymovie.jpg"? I'm trying to find an automated way of doings this because manually doing it would take me the rest of my life

Short answer. No.

If you prefer to use your own thumbnails, you are looking at doing it all manually.

Bulk Rename Utility will allow you to do this. You can specify to Remove File Name (2) and Append Folder Name - prefix (9) in all subfolders (12). I think you can even specify that it only do so on *.jpg files.

It's a very cool tool. http://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/Main_Intro.php
