SageTV wireless adapters on ebay

Some SageTV-branded wireless adapters that can be used with the HD200 and HD300 are being sold on ebay here.

These are same type of wireless adapters that were previously available from the SageTV store.

I'm saving my pennies for the HD300 "authorized clearance event from remaining inventory not part of the acquisition".

Does anyone have any Sage Extender experience with this adapter in-store at your local Best Buy?

... an alternative

Don't waste your time looking for one of these USB adapters that may or may not work properly with your SageTV extender. Instead, go for a device like this that allows you to connect a device with an ethernet port to a wireless network. I attached one of those devices to a switch using a crossover cable, and then attached my HD200 with a standard Cat5e cable. This also allowed me to attach other wired devices to that switch as well (thereby turning those devices into wireless devices also). I thought it worked really well. There a number of manufacturers that make these devices (e.g., Netgear, Buffalo).

Thanks, DaveW42! I have a HD300 in the basement that's always had network issues. It's on MOCA now but the coax run isn't 100% reliable. The universal WiFi adapter has a decent chance of working as the HD300 is located about 20 ft from the router and the signal only has to travel through the floor, no walls or pipes.

I am using one like this, except by D-Link - older 54g model, but still works. This one, being N speed, would likely be much better. Put it in client mode, select the correct subnet and you're done.

Glad I could help! I have learned so much from others on this forum ...

Did this "clearance" sale actually happen? I'm trying to figure out where this one seller on Ebay managed to get his hands on HD300 after HD300 after HD300 etc ....... brand new in box. The guy is selling one after another every 4 or 5 days.

That's amazing, the guy must have had 20 of these things (or more) layin' around. That is some FANTASTIC foresight!
