Component HDTV capture solution finally?

Found an article on HTPCnews.com about a new card from S3 that seems to be able to capture HDTV from a component source. Is this the solution to the HDTV 'problem'?

If this in fact does what it seems to be able to do, I think HDTV will truely come to home-built PVRs everywhere.

Here's the press release.

It says it'll be compatible with M$ Media Center, does that mean Sage can use it too? DX9 compatible...

I think HD is at least 5 years before "everything" comes in it, so I am in no rush

Yeah, there's a thread over on AVS too, if you look at the PDF, they list HDTV Component Input as a feature, what they mean by that nobody seems to know, could be passthrough like the Holo3D II, could be 480p capture, who knows.
