Fixed: EPG has no data after Oct 12, 2011

I am also seeing some strangeness that looks like SageTV is not actually updating the EPG data. SageTV says it is updating, but no new data is downloaded. This has gone on for 2-3 days so far. I have tried several options (force update, edit properties file, etc.) but I get no more EPG than I did 2-3 days ago. Zap2It has 3 more days of data than I get. Mine stops on the 12th (10 days), Zap2It stops on the 15th (13 days - the normal amount I have gotten for years). I will play around some more, but I agree it looks like I am not actually getting any new EPG data either.

Edited to add information update

Updated Oct 5, 2011:
The built-in EPG data source has been repaired & data now extends beyond Oct 12.

SageTV should fill in all missing data after the 12th during your next EPG update. There should be no manual steps needed for the update to occur.

- Andy (Opus4)

End Edit

Voorhees, I'm seeing the exact same issue as you. My data stops on the 12th, 10 days from now. I do not have any raw channel IDs added to the line-up or anything complicated. Just a stock OTA lineup for my area, same lineup for all tuners.

Yeah, I have been playing around trying all the same stuff over and over (edit properties, toggle channels, etc.), and it looks like data has stopped updating from 12 October at 6:00pm MDT for me. megamojo, thanks for confirming that you are seeing the same thing. I will start a new thread since it really is a different problem than the one this thread is addressing.

EPG Missing (No Data)

I have noticed over the last couple of days that SageTV says it is updating my EPG data but I am not actually getting any new data past 12 October for any of my channels. I have tried all of the normal stuff over and over (force update, edit properties, toggle channels, etc.), and it looks like data has stopped updating from 12 October at 6:00pm MDT for me. When looking on my web server page I see SageTV thinks it downloaded data through Friday 14 October (I can pick both 13 October and 14 October in the pull down for the EPG), but "No Data" is listed for all channels after 12 October at 6:00pm MDT. So far we have one confirmation that the EPG data is not updating after 12 October, is anyone else seeing this issue?

EPG Data Not Updating

Even though my nightly EPG updates have been successful (according to the web interface), I haven't gotten any new EPG data in almost a week. This is the case for both the OTA and DishNetwork guides. Is anyone else seeing this?

If it makes a difference, the region is Cedar Rapids, IA

I'm guessing this is also related to the EPG server move & it is being looked into.

The cause of the EPG data outage after Oct 12, 2011, is now known and a fix is being worked on. I'll post another update when there is more info and/or after it has been resolved.

My heart skipped a beat when I noticed the short Guide look-ahead yesterday. That coupled with a flood of GMail circle emails from (I assume) SageTV users made me think Google had killed it early.

Glad to know it's just a technical glitch. My important recordings are set to record all since some of them don't update descriptions until the day before airing anyway.

this does raise an interesting point: when the one-year deadline date approaches, how much warning be given of the specific date, and what will the alternative to the current EPG source be?

EPG not updating

My EPG is not updating.
I tried the force update in the web browser.
I tried reselecting my cable provider on one of my tuners.
I tried adding and removing a channel.

I ***REALLY REALLY*** do not want to remove and put all of my tuners back in because of all of the manual channel enables/disables and the linked providers (it should be easier to have different tuners with that same cable listing with different channel lineups).

I have debugging enabled, but I don't see anything that I can recognize as an error listed near EPG.

Where do I go from here (before my EPG is outdated and I stop recording my shows!).
