You shouldn't need to redo any favourites except maybe for favs that record off specific channels and that's only necessary if the channel names differ from what the Sage EPG named them and what the mc2xml service names them.

After an iniitial EPG switch & download, it may take up to 10 mins or so before your favs reload and find the new airing to record.

Hi Slugger,
Thanks for that latest version. It worked right out of the box with SD.

All that I had to do afterwards was put in the correct physical address for each channel (XX.XX.x). Which brings up a question... Would it be possible (sometime down the road) for the plugin to assign the physical address based on the info in "channels.xml" when using SD as the source? I noticed that the <display-name> fields contain both the logical and real channel numbers, only on different lines. So the data is there.

Open a ticket and I'll take a closer look when I look into finishing up full SD support for the plugin in the fall.

For the mc2xml plugin. Shouldn't the download of the EPG be automated in some way. I just looked at mine and it was only current up until Aug 6th. So I ran the mc2xml command for my 2 line ups and force a epg update in the plugin. It up to date now.


But how do I automate this?

Follow the setup Directions carefully it is fully automated. Especially the part on where to put the MC2XML executable. Also you might want to check the epg log located in Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\plugins\mc2xmlepg\logs

Can anyone using this plugin with OTA channels/lineups have a read of this and let me know if the requested channel format there is valid for you as well? I have no problems implementing the requested change, but I want to make sure it's not going to break (too many) others if I do it.

Yeah, so the physical channel number... that's the same looking number Bobby is looking for in the feature request. Is that physical number "universal" (i.e. it's not device or locale dependent)? So if I construct the physical number as shown then I won't be breaking anyone's setup at all? I have to ask because I have no OTA setup and no way to even know what to do other than what I'm told.

The physical prefix (fcc channel assignment) is in the line of the xmltv.xml file: <display-name>18 WPBTDT fcc</display-name>

The friendly channel assignment is in the (in the channel display name line and would be appended to the physical prefix ).

So the following channel:

<display-name>WPBTDT</display-name>
<display-name>2.1 WPBTDT</display-name>
<display-name>2.1</display-name>
<display-name>18 WPBTDT fcc</display-name>

becomes 18.2.1 or 18-2-1


EDIT: More than one city may have an fcc channel 18, but the data from schedules direct seems to contain the proper local data.
Also, the friendly name channel number (or display name channel number) should always be the same as the channel id for any given locale.

EDIT:
Slugger: SageTV works with decimal points or dashes in the physical channel number. The default physical channel assignment in Sage uses dashes. So 18.2.1 would be to 18-2-1 but really doesn't seem to matter.

I just rebuilt my sage server and I see this in my mc2xml license log. I do have a purchased license. Any idea if I shouldbe worried about this?

Also prior to rebuilding I used to get channel for my local stations as 44-2,44-1,45-2,etc..

But now I'm not pull them in like that and I cannot fing my local staions.

I have 2 line ups set, one for my hdpvr and one for my hdhome runs.

when my hdhomeruns scan for channels, they show as 44-2,44-1, etc.

But mc2xml doesn't show them lie that.

any thoughts . I attached all the logs.

So I made some head way. I got the channels to come in in the format 44-1,44-2, etc..

I did a EPG refresh and waited and they showed up.

But there is "no data" in the guide for these channels.

I been reading the last few pages of this thread and see other with the same issue. Looks like there is a fix for it, but I cannot understand where this fix is, or how to implement it.

Some direction would be great.

So the errors and exceptions at the bottom of epg.txt are due to either not installing mc2xml or not installing it to a system path. Either copy the mc2xml binary to a dir on the system path or go to the plugin config in Sage and point it to the full location of mc2xml.

The errors in salicense.txt are due to an invalid license file. You need to configure the sagetv-addons license server plugin and point it to the location of your license file and restart Sage.

What are you using for the data source? MS legacy or Schedules Direct? MS legacy data does not support nor contain OTA channels.

Need to figure out how to get a copy of the the full version I purchased.

Have your license file resent via:

http://gateway.battams.ca/licmgr/

Schedules Direct is not officially supported in the current release of the plugin. There are posts towards the end of this thread explaining how you can do it with the current version. The next release will support SD properly. ETA is sometime in September - probably closer to the end of September.

This license file is fine, a slight bug in processing it (which is why you get the null line), but the first line is all that matters. It's recognized as a full, purchased license file.

Would anyone now when using Schedules Direct with mc2xml do I need to check anything off in regards to -U: UTF8 -u:UTC, etc...

For some reason I'm getting no data in my guide for my channels like 44-2,44-1, 45-2, etc...

Any thoughts woudl be great, thanks!
