So I'm having a problem. I followed the directions (I believe) correctly, but when I choose "use US, canada, or xmltv guide with this source" it doesn't show my line up.
Should I be choose this? Thanks for any help.

Yes, that's what you choose. If you get a blank screen when choosing it, it means your lineup.properties file does not exist or is invalid. Will need the log files (especially plugin.log and epg.log) from C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\plugins\mc2xmlepg\logs\

Restart Sage, then reconfigure your video sources again. The logs are currently empty so I believe the EPG plugin hasn't been "snapped in" to the core yet. The epg.log file should have some data in it after you restart Sage and reattempt to configure a video source.

I restarted sage a few times and the same thing. So I removed the plugin, restarted sage and installed the plugin, then ran the mc2xml app again. It pulls down about 449 channels, but when I configure the sources I get the blank screen still.

I'm running java 1.7.0_05.
Could that be the cause? I know mc2xlm is not tested on it.

What's weird is that it appears the plugin code is never being called by the Sage core (i.e. the empty log files). Look in sagetv_0.txt for any exceptions involving classes from sagetvaddons. It is possible that the plugin code can't play nice with Java 7, if that were the case then exceptions should be present in the Sage debug log.

I think it was something in my sage properties file. I reinstalled sage and copied my wiz.bin file over and I can see the lineup.
Now, do I need to do a scan for channels when setting up the tuner? Thanks for the help

You using an HDHR or some kind of ATSC tuner? Someone else will have to chime in on whether you're supposed to do a scan or not b/c I don't really know. I know someone else had problems mapping channels from the xml data to their scanned channels when they did a scan (or maybe when they didn't, don't recall). I'm purely satellite so ATSC requirements are beyond my realm of knowledge.

I did a scan and I'm getting channels now.
since I use 2 hd home runs and an hd-pvr I want them to use the same line up, but not use the same selected channels. Do I need a license for that. I did download the full trial license but I only see one lineup. So that leads to another question. When you say each lineup in the lineup.properties files needs positive integer, do you mean something like: id=1000 name=Shaw Direct East (Classic) id=1001 name=hd-pvr Will that work? Because I only see hd-pvr in my line up chooices. Thanks

thank you on the properties file, I'll check that out.
As for the trial license, I just received it today and installed it in the sage-addons license server. I enetered in my email address and the location of the lic file, then I restarted sage.

For the license issues, check \SageTV\plugins\salicense\salicense.log
If it doesn't like your license file, that log should tell you why.

It didn't like the file you pointed it at. The file must reside on the Sage server and the path must be valid on the Sage server. Configuring the license file location via a Sage Client will almost never work correctly. Configure it via an extender or PlaceShifter (or a local client running on the same host as the server).

So I configured the plugin from my extender and placed the lic file on the sage server in c:\.
