MythTV for Windows

I think the requirement to build the thing from source would scare away about 99.9% of the potential audience. They need to take the time to "finish" the product and post binaries with an installer. Or at least a zip file..

I agree. I saw the links that to download installers. Even clicked on one of the links but it was still confusing.

I *might* test this out on windows at some point, when I've got a lot of time and a PC I don't mind messing with. But it really needs to be a lot easier if they want widespread adoption.

If this works as well as sage's pvr engine then I can see this with an xbmc front end replacing sage when the time comes. If the time comes.

Am I misunderstanding something? I thought MythTV for Windows would be the front end, with the Linux MythTV being the back end. How would xbmc fit into the picture?

I read it the same way. Only the client front end was ported to Windows while the backend recording engine remains Linux only.
