Hi,
anyone else get this?

I notice with my DishNetwork channels, the Fox Movie Channel creates graphical glitches on the EPG menu... like jagged long triangles...and only when the program title is in BLUE!

Two things makes this go away...

1. Disabling the Channel in Channel Setup.
2. Disable 3D Accleration.

This is the only channel that does this in my channel lineup.
It doesn't do this when I go back to Originalv2.stv
Still does it whenI remove the Channel Logo as well as configuring menu to be a transparency.

Any hints or are EPG graphical glitches still a known bug in the STV?
Thanks

Glitches like that are a known issue with the 3D Renderer and and certain video cards. It comes about when you use the right shape with certain dimensions. Resolution you run Sage at will also affect this.

When I shrink my Sage window on my client to a certain size all heck breaks loose with blue triangles .

Thanks for the explanation! Is there a fix for it?
I have as you can see an AGP 5200 128MB Nvidia card
I use the TV Out and my desktop is 640x480 on my TV.
Should I change the resolution on my desktop?
Odd that it only happends with this ONE channel

EDIT:
Actually bumping up to the next highest desktop resolution fixed the problem... thanks for the idea

You might just be able to fix it by adjusting any overscan settings you have made. I think changing the geometry enough should do it. I would test for sure though at different resolutions to be sure this is the same problem.

Thanks again! Do you plan to release an stv upgrade soon?
It's so darn slick as it is! Just a few aethetic thinga-ma-gigs like the border on the program description always being yellow when it should be white.. in fact.. that's all I can really think of that I care about.

We'll I'm trying to get caught back up. Bought house last month, packed stuff, moved stuff, unpacked.... Now back to playing with sage.

This skin has come a long way from the earlier one I was still running. Thanks MlbDude.

Prior posts show that some of you are working toward using Theatertek. So, maybe some of you can help me out.

I'm trying to use TT for DVD's and ripped DVDs (media Library). I have the external_dvd_player and external_media_player set up for TT and it opens fine. I also have Girder set up using the taskcreate plugin to wake sage when TT closes.

Here are the problems I'm having:

I see that multiple params are not working yet, but I cannot even get the first one to work for either external_dvd_player_params=/RES 1920 1080 or the external_media_player_params=/RES 1920 1080.

A desktop shortcut for TT with /RES 1920 1080 /PATH "d:\Return of the king\VIDEO_TS" it switches res, opens TT and plays fine. When the same ripped dvd is selected in the media library, TT opens, but does not play the movie. It also does not play when "PLAY" is selected in TT.

Now a Girder question. Sage wakes fine when TT is exited, but it also wakes when PLAY is selected. I set up the command to wake sage in Girder and then opened TT, selected "learn event" in Girder and then Closed TT.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

All you guys trying to get a bunch of cmd line parameters going with TT, try this out to see if it works.

Create a new file called TT.cmd somewhere that Sage can get to it.

Add the path for TT first then your command line. Where the video file would go put a %1 instead.

Here is my example for Windows Media Player:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" %1

For TT I think it would be something like:

"YOUR_TT_PATH" /RES 1920 1080 /PATH %1

In your Sage.properties specify the new cmd file instead of TT.

If this works I think it is a better way to do command line options.

Have you restarted Sage or SageClient? If you browse to the folder BEFORE an image is there Sage locks in a blank image. The only way to get it to reload is to restart. Generally, when setting up a folder put the image in before testing it out.

Invalid Weather XML?

I'm getting the following:

C:\Program Files\Frey Technologies\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\MlbDude>getweather.exe
http://www.weatherroom.com/xml/ext/75089
System.Xml.XmlException: There are multiple root elements. Line 4, position 11.
at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseRoot()
at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.Read()
at System.Xml.XmlValidatingReader.ReadNoCollectTextToken()
at System.Xml.XmlValidatingReader.Read()
at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadDocSequence(XmlDocument parentDoc)
at System.Xml.XmlLoader.Load(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader, Boolean prese
rveWhitespace)
at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(XmlReader reader)
at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(String filename)
at GetWeather.Weather.Main(String[] args)

It looks to me like the XML isn't in the right format. Any suggestions?

I can confirm that this works. Please put this on the website until you get >1 parameters working, so that people don't have to wade through all these posts.

P.S. It would be nice if there was some way for you to monitor the external app, then revive Sage when it finishes running...
P.P.S. Why doesn't this forum let you search threads?! Grrr...

Any workarounds for media organization?

The mlbdude folders go a long way toward making imported media usable. Does anyone know of some way to organize things across drives? On the same drive, I think you can create a folder with a structure like:

Pictures
TV Shows
Movies
Music

and import that directory. However, that doesn't work when the media is on different drives. Shortcuts don't show up in the import directoy listing, and XP hard links don't work across mounted drives either. (See Junction Link Magic for a program to create hard links.)

I will be adding the automatic come out of Sleep feature in the next release. However, the reason I did not do it before was because it did not work with TT. It will be configurable though so you can try it out for yourself.

You still getting this? I just tried it with that zip and it worked for me.

I tried this and it works great for passing multiple parameters. However, I can't get it to work with the %1 parameter. It works great if a use a specific file name for the PATH parm, but TT opens and then nothing plays if I use the %1.

Coppit,

You confirmed it was working with multiple parmaters. Did you get it to work with the %1. I'd love to know what I'm missing.

Mlbdude,

Would it be a big deal to allow the .cmd file to reside in the same directory as the .jpg cover art? It would be nice to be able to setup the parms based on specific movie. An example would be playing a DTS intro for a movie that is DTS. Maybe if a .cmd file exists in the movie directory then use it, otherwise use the one specified in the sage progerties file. Its just a thougt. Anyway, keep up the great work. This skin is approaching perfection from my stand point.
