prefer to not auto-flag watched shows
Basically I would like to have Sage not mark shows that I have watched as 'Watched' or, have 'Wathced' shows delete at the same priority level as non watched favorites. Why would somebody want this? Because I live in a college house and just because Smelly Bob has watched Chappelles show does not mean that I have, and there is no way that I am going to train all these guys to go and reset it with the remote. Also there are some shows that we never get to the end of like the Daily Show ( don't really care for the moment of zen.) but are ready to be deleted. Is this possible for me to do? Or am I going to get the "Just wait for Studio" answer?
Anyways myself and all the non techies love Sagetv. So I would like to say that in addition to the great WAF that sage also has a great RAF ( Roomate ...) Have a Great day! |

Set your favorites to Manual Delete only; they will never get automatically deleted. Of course, you will have to remember to 'clean house' every so often. Simply manually delete those that you are ready to get rid of. If you don't mark them as watched before deletion, however, they will get recorded again the next time they are on.

Gotta say I hate this behavior as well. Why not allow us to disable the watched flag, it's LOUSY for a multi-user environment. Setting favorites for manual deletion sounds more pita than it's worth. I turned off IR and so far it's not so delete happy. I also try to stop a program early when possible and scan through list of programs for italics and manually clear the watched on 'em.
I moved from Snapstream and so far it's been a GREAT move (Beyond TV is beyond bloated and bluggy so as to be useless imo) but one thing SS did better was automatically deleting shows. I didn't ever worry about it over there. |
