Teaching USB-UIRT

Just wanted to follow up again here. I continued to have problems with the channel changing of the USB-UIRT device. It would work fine for about the first 5 or 6 channel changes, then out of the blue, it would start entering each digit twice (so channel 1012 is actually entered very quickly as 11001122). I rebuilt my SageTV computer about 6 months ago or so, and I haven't used the HDPVR much, so the problem could have been there since the beginning of this system.

Checking the back of the machine, the USB-UIRT only had (2) options, to be plugged into a USB3.0 port, or a USB2.0 port with extra power (for device charging). I tried both with the same strange activity, forcing an uninstall and reinstall of the Windows driver each time I switched ports.

I finally plugged it into one of the standard USB2.0 ports on the front of the computer and it started working again. I will admit the channel changes are even slower now (painfully slow), which I can't explain, but at least it doesn't poop out after consecutive channel changes. We'll see how this pans out.
