HD300 plays wrong file?

When I rip a movie to my WHS, one of my HD300s will find the movie and display name and fanart correctly, but when I try and watch the movie, it plays a random TV show instead. OK, maybe not really random, but the same one, and not one I have ever recorded. Even when I find the movie through the file browser on the HD300, it plays the TV show instead.

This has happened now twice over the last year with different movies. Oddly, another HD300 I have will play the same movie without a problem.

Any ideas?

Yes. It doesn't have permissions to get to the file. Look in video details of the movie. It should give you a path. a UNC path is better. But you need to make sure the HD300 has permissions to that path.

Then there's probably something the HD300 doesn't like about the file, does it play elsewhere? Maybe the file got corrupted?

It does play from another HD300 on the network, so I don't think the file is corrupted.

Then try rebooting the HD300 when that happens. You could even go so far as to unplug it and let it set for a while unplugged before pluging it back in. If that doesn't take care of it then restart the server.

I've had my HD200 display similar problems and most of the time I can just reboot the extender and it will take care of it. When it doesn't I unplug the extender. When that doesn't work I restart the server.
