I am considering building two new small form factor PC's and will need client key for each. But I do have a question or two.

I have a server license which I think also contains a the ability to use as a client but can that client key be used on a different machine than the actual server machine?

I have a Placeshifter license on my laptop which is only used when we are away so I believe it could be used on the home network as a client, is this correct. I know it can only be use on one machine at a time.

To put it very simply, SageTV (server) doesn't come with a client license.

What you can do is connect to another SageTV server with a SageTV server install, you can run server in "client mode", but it's still SageTV server, it's just the UI portion connecting to a remote SageTV server vs the local one.

You can use Placeshifter on the LAN, but it's a different license and different software from SageTV client. The licenses between Placeshifter and Client are not interchangeable.
