Haumpage Cards

What is the difference between the roslyn card that is in the sage bundles and the PVR250? Any suggestions on what card I should go with for my new system?

You probably should review the PVR-250MCE on the cheap thread. It has a good discussion of the roslyn card.

Which is best depends mostly on your needs. I believe the major differences are:
Different type of connections on the card
Roslyn does not support Hauppauge remote
Roslyn is cheaper and does not come with the standard Hauppauge software, Frey supplies what you need.

also the pvr 250 is more supported not an issue if you go sage but if you decide to go with mythTV in the future it is a no go right now
also the roslyns have a radio but only MCE 2004 supports it
sage should soon though
SHS said Beyond TV users "complain" about no radio as well

the roslyn also has the ability to work with software that does not use a hardware encoder
I do not have one so not sure what programs there are available to capture AVI with it but a good place to find info about it if you are wondering is www.shspvr.com/forum
