Movie Wall

What is the current best approach to a nice looking and good performing movie "wall" type of experience for Sage extenders (hd200 and 300)? I've tried Phoenix and was disappionted and SageMymovies was kind of slow too. MediaBrowser for MC is not bad and that is what I'm looking for with Sage. Any guidance?

Thanks!

I think in most cases the "slowness" associated with movie walls is the fanart resizing. In Phoenix, did you run the scale fanart option before you went into the wall? If not, then yeah, it's going to slow. I think most solutions offer a pre-scaling option to increase performance.

FWIW, I have played with resizing the fanart and such manually, ending up with much smaller file sizes then the automatic re-sizer that the plugins use, keeping the same PQ/etc, also tried compressing them to 25% (ie losing a lot of quality), and then un compressing them to 75% (the theory in my mind at the time was to lose a lot of 'bits' but still make the JPeg decompression for the HDx00's easy, not sure if there is any reality to any of this... just seemed like something to try) there was a noticeable speed increase, but but it was still horribly slow... so I am just guessing the HDx00's just don't have the horsepower (or maybe just local cache?) to do a good movie wall...

alternately, I have found that the HDx00's handle the "list views" excellently, while not necessarily as 'flashy' as a wall view, they are much, much faster, and easier to find the movie of your choice anyway... plus they really don't look that bad... I have grown quite used to the SMM one...
for example SMM:

and Diamond:

hey, I just noticed in the diamond one, that whoever took the screen shot not only has "eclipse" but has in fact watched it for some unknown reason and since posting this screen shot has in effect admitted that to the world... hmmm...

of course I could be completely wrong, and there may be a way to make HDx00's do movie walls faster... YMMV

Thanks for the input guys. I'm guessing that Diamond doesn't work with the 7.1.9 release since it shows as 'incompatible' in the plugins area?

Here are some Gemstone flows. The wall can be a full wall or partial wall with title and other info and optionally the wall can scroll up/down or left/right.
