Transmitter FRQ changes or Sandy Heath?

For no apparent reason, my signal strengths now show at 65% whereas before they were in excess of 85%.

This is causing signal on some recordings (at peak hours mainly) to drop out leaving the dreaded 'red bar' in patches on some of my recording.

Have there been any changes to the main UK transmitter FRQs in the last couple of weeks?

Has anybody in the Sandy Heath range had to re-tune recently?

On trying to retune last night, I found very little; why are HDHomeruns so bloody sensitive or is it just Sage.....

Actually, for the first time ever, I am panicing.

The standard sage channel scan is returning NOTHING.

Yet, the old FRQs still tune in (with lower signal strength) to the freeview tuners.

I just did the unthinkable; I configured Windows Media Center against the same tuners, it finds more channels that Sage ever has and, they all tune perfectly. Remind me, why did I invest so heavily in SageTV?

Why would the channel scan return NOTHING all of a sudden and how do I reinitialize it?

Never had this issue before.

Please go to Setup > Setup Video Sources, do you see strange sources listed?

It appears that lots of people are experiencing problem with their tuners as recent and I start to believe that is not pure coincidence. People that had their system working reliabily and all of the sudden, without any apparent change, the tuners doesn't tune anymore (red icon, halt recording).

Mmmm, yes did have an odd looking video source.

I updated my tuner firmware (HD Homeruns), I scanned and tuned in Media Centre software as a background check (all fine), I checked my signal amplifier and terrestrial freeview TV received (all fine) and then removed and re-added the tuner video sources.

Now it is working OK; not sure if the signal strengths are any stronger or if re-tuning is now working as haven't had time to retry this.

Will do this and come back but, I can tell you. This system and tuners has been stable with EPG for 12 months now (in fact I am running a backup SageTV instance too) and I have never, ever seen this issue before.

I did check the Predefined FRQs posted on my other thread and they are fine so all in all a bit weird

This has happened again. All channels now giving 58-60% signal strength out of the blue.

Tuners are now dropping signal and recordings. It's a beautifully clear day so is not weather.

Thinking of reverting to my Sky boxes for TV and Sage for movies as it's too temperamental.

Anybody else had freebies frequency changes? I have tried a SageTV detuned but same result.

No issues here in Herts, but I get my signal from Crystal Palace.

It has been widely reported that the roll out of the new mobile 4G will cause significant interference for some people on tv reception. It could be the start of this that you are seeing, are you near to a transmitter?
