How to go about setting up my TBS6984

Hey Guys,

So i've just bit the bullet and purchased one of these cards to try out. Just over the first hurdle, in that the 4 tuners are recognised in Sage.

I've just tried adding a source now but can't find any settings in the format sage requires { LOF1, LOF2, LOF SW, TOS1, TOS2 }.

I have come across the channel lineup on http://en.kingofsat.net/pack-freesat.php but I haven't figured out how to add them.

Also, what part does a .frq file play in the setup? I've tried searching for info on this but no guides, just discussions on how to tweak/fix.

Any info at all is much appreciated.

Cheers.

How did you use your cards before? Is the TBS6984 your first DVB-S tuner?

Set as below
LOF SW=11700000
LOF 1=9750000
LOF 2=10600000

You should then be able to scan for channels from SageTV and will generate the .frq file for you.
Repeat for the remaining three tuners but selecting to copy from existing lineup ( ie the first tuner you scanned ).

This will give you now and next tv guide data only, so you'll need to set up say XMLTV Importer to get your guide data.

Hey Guys,

I've just started back into this over Christmas. I didn't get a notification about the replies, so that's why I didn't respond.

Anyway, thanks for getting back to me. I have tried both solutions and still not getting any channels found in Sage.

Just wondering would it be any use to start from a completely clean install?

I had a Pinnacle 3010ix in Sage before, I could get analogue channels through that but wasn't much good.

Have you tried using the DVB software that came with the card? Check you can receive channels using this software first.
If you can't it is possible that your Satelite signal is not strong enough / good enough quality.
If this works try again with sage. I take it that sage finds the tuner x 4, its just that you cannot tune channels.
