Multiple Files Created in Sage 2.0
I'm having a problem recording shows longer than one hour. I have SageTV 2.0 (registered), a Hauppauge PVR 250 and am using the Great Quality recording setting. All shows that are one hour or less are recorded to one file (up to 2 GB for one hour).
If I try and record a movie of 1 to 2 hours the recording is split into about 5 files of different sizes. The first half an hour always gets split into about three files at least. The first files are between 10MB and a few hundred MB in size and seem to get progressivley larger in size. The last file that gets recorded is big (~ 1.5 GB). Also, the files don't have sequential video data, there are huge gaps between files. I'm pretty sure that this segmentation shouldn't be happening and that somehow the stream from the PVR 250 is being broken and Sage is recovering the recording. - The fragmentation here is happening within the first half an hour so why doesn't this happen with a one hour recording (or even a half hour recording)? - Is there some issue with the recording quality I'm using when it comes to long recordings? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Yilmaz |

Are you using Fat 32 or NTFS file system? Fat 32 has a 2 gig files size limit.

All Sage recording directories are on NTFS partitions.

This is probably an issue with your Hauppauge card or installation. If you search the forums you can see some more info on it. Generally fixes have included reinstalling or updating your drivers or moving the card to another PCI slot.
