playback on extender, recording on nas
When extenders are playing back recordings and the recordings are on a Nas device does the extender get the recording directly from the NAS or is it getting it through the server?
Want to understand this so as I troubleshoot connectivity issues I've got the right info. thanks

Extenders run everything through the server. Clients, on the other hand, will try accessing the file directly first (as long as the path is the same), and if that fails, it will stream through the server. I've always recommended keeping recordings on the server. I just don't see the advantage to a NAS in the sage recording space, and it just complicates/slows matters.
