NVDVD Decoder
Where can I purchase this NVDVD decoder? Nvidia website says that they are not currently selling NVDVD but that it is bundled with EVGA brand video cards. Funny thing is I just bought my EVGA MX4000 about a month ago but no NVDVD :-(
Thanks

Check out NewEgg. This is where I purchased my copy:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...164-001&depa=0 The CD contains an older version (something like 2.22 or 2.25) but you can use the patch on Nvidia's website to upgrade it to their latest released version (2.50?..) Sorry, I'm bad with version numbers ![]() Hope this helps! ![]() |

This seems like as good a place as any.
It sounds like FWMM, nVDVD 3 will never be available "retail" it will be OEM only. That's the bad news. However the good news is better, what will be available in Retail form is nVDVD 4.x. This is the decoder that will be shipping with TheaterTek 2.0 and includes and number of improvements over nVDVD 3: Quote:

I posted asking for SageTV support, but I also plan on buying TT 2.0. Do you think the "unlocked" 4.0 decoder that comes with TT 2.0 will be able to be used by Sage? Seems like it should since the Sonic decoders I use with Sage now came with TT 1.5.

That's my understanding, but I guess we won't know for sure until someone tries it
![]() I'm actually contemplating getting TT 2.0 just to get a hold of the decoders. |

Stanger89,
I can honestly tell you that for me, buying TheaterTek (I'm an original owner having paid for it ever since it was announced, before it was released) that it is without question the best sub-$100 I've ever spent on my HTPC. I believe that if you did get TT2.0, you'd be a convert as well. Now, if only we could get our hands on Studio...... -PGPfan |

Thing is I won't use TT since I use Sage for my DVD Player, it does everything I need and allows me to stay in the Sage interface full time. Although I might use TT 2 for WMV-HD stuff.

Forceware v4.0.018 works with SageTV, but it's not the one included with TT. It was included with another beta I'm on, and works just fine.

It's supposed to be soon, and last I heard if you buy TT 1.5 now you get 2.0 for free when it's released. All thought I'd confirm with TT bevore ponying up the dough.

To the best of my knowledge the upgrade to TT2.0 won't be a free one to anyone. Keep in mind that when TT1.5 was released there was a small ($12.50) charge for it because it included a new decoder which had to be licensed. The same will be true with this release (although the actual price hasn't been announced).
TT2.0 is not out yet, but is scheduled for release this month. Andrew (the TT dev) has stated that essentially 3 versions will be available: 1) For new users, 2) for those of us that are upgrading, and 3) a version that will include software Dolby Digital and DTS decoding (which will be great for those of us with an M-Audio REVO card that want to use the pc as a pre-amp). -PGPfan P. S.- Stanger89, although Sage is certainly servicable as a DVD player, it has a LONG way to go before it will do what TT is capable of. I love Sage for what it does, it's just not that great as a DVD player. (IMHO) |

PGPfan,
I found the post: Quote:
That was from Andrew of TT on 6-14. FWIW, I don't dissagree that Sage isn't capable of what TT is, it's just that I haven't found anything lacking w/ Sage's player, and since I don't have TT, I haven't gotten used to any of it's cool features. |
