DCT Plugin help!?
Ok. I installed the dct plugin correctly (I think). I also have the com port set correctly. When I try and change channels at the cmd line, nothing happens. When I try and do it in sage, the tv hangs for a second as if it's about to change, but then it doesn't.
My cable box model is DCT2224 and the firmware is 7.73. I believe those are correct, yes? I suspect the serial port may just not be enabled. But SOMETHING appeared to be happening as I mentioned before, so I'm not positive. Has anyone out there been successful in having Comcast enable the serial port for them? With their own DVR service, I've read here that they're not too keen on enabling the port for you if you tell them it's for a Tivo/PVR. Anyone know what the port was initially designed for or what Comcast would consider a "legitimate" (i.e. a reason for which they wouldn't mind enabling the port) use of the port?? Justin |

Hmm, when running dct though cmd prompt do you put "dct 23", make sure there is a space between the dct & the channel you want to change.
Im not sure about asking comcast, but I would think you could just tell them that you're getting a tivo and need to know if the serial port is enabled. Just my two cents. ,cc

Hehehe. Sorry about that. When I said "nothing happens" at the command prompt, I meant that the command runs and I see output from the command, but the channel doesn't change. Sorry for the confusion
