Any issues using Ceton PCI Quad-tuner Card with Sagetv
since Comcast went digital on basic channels and my OTA is not very reliable, I'm thinking of installing a Ceton Quad-tuner PCI Card.
How difficult is it to get sage to recognize this? I thought of getting the 6 tuner usb model, but I don't need that many tuners and the ratings on the usb model it's very good at all. Seems the PCI is mroe reliable. Any thoughts ?

From my understanding SageDCT was originally written for the ceton then was expanded to work with HDHomerunPrime. Here is the description from Andy's Site.
"SageDCT is a SageTV network encoder for DRI enabled Digital Cable Tuners (DCT). It will only work with Copy Freely content. Currently, only the Ceton InfiniTV 4 with 51+ (currently in beta) firmware will work. Other tuners will be added as they become available." If you use it Andy has a donation button on his website be nice and donate for all his effort. I know I use SageDCT everyday and could not live without. So yes it should work fine, but as always every setup is different so you may have to track down some problems. |

I did this for my dad, and it was fine. Upgraded him to the new Infinity 6 eth to get a few extra channels for 1 mcard.

I have had a ceton quad pci tuner card for many years in conjunction with SageDCT. Works like a charm. I have it in its own dedicated box so it is basically similar to a HDHR Prime. Recently Ceton came out with its own Ethernet version similar to the HDHR Prime. If I was doing it today I would use that of course instead of the PCI card that requires a host OS.
