A lot of people see that, it doesn't matter as far as I know.

That's because you're using the post processor, which disables/bypasses all hardware accelleration.

It's a bug; the tray icon should be displayed. You can get around that by first ensuring that the nVidia Video Decoder is the Microsoft Windows default decoder. Then set SageTV to use the Default option for video decoder. The tray icon will then show up properly.
