Lineup Missing

I just noticed that my entire Sage program guide is "No Data". Not sure when it happened...but I do recall thinking "hmmm, not many recordings being done" starting a few days ago.

I tried going in to the capture device setup and disabling/enabling a channel. I thought that was supposed to force an update. But no joy.

I've checked that port 7760 is still open on the Windows firewall. I also checked that my network firewall/router is allowing outbound access to 7760. I didn't think either of these had anything to do with the problem, as I haven't changed the configuration of either in weeks and Sage was running fine until recently.

The only thing I've done in the last couple of weeks was to install an HDHomeRun Prime (3 encoder unit) and SageDCT. Could either of those be a culprit?

Some more information...

I thought that, in setting up the Prime, I might've linked the tuners to an EPG "listing" associated with a capture device that's no longer in the system. So I went back in and configured each of the Prime tuners to use a new EPG lineup (Comcast Digital San Mateo).

That got me a basic program guide. But all of the "extra" channels (e.g., SyFy, USA) which I have in my cable package are "No Data". I suspect that's because the only two EPG choices I was offered were "Basic" and "Extended Basic", neither of which correctly describes my package.

Anyone have experience with resolving this which might help? I am truly at a loss here.

For what it's worth, it appears that my theory about deleting the capture device whose lineup I was using for my new Prime network encoder was correct. The lineup info does not have an independent existence. When you delete the "primary" device it's associated with, all of the copies of it get "nullified", so you eventually run out of program information.

I also want to point out a couple of other things. I solved the problem by setting up new lineups from scratch. But apparently the lineup choices for Comcast, at least in my area, don't include a full suite of channels. Instead, you get to pick only between "basic" and "extended basic". Neither really describes my setup.

That caused a large number of channels to not be included in my lineup. There was even on over-the-air analog channel (the local ABC affiliate) which was not included!

I "solved" this problem by waiting (actually, I was pulling my hair out trying different things, but I'm sure none of them did anything). After about 10 or 20 minutes the rest of my lineup was magically enabled.

I was also initially quite concerned that Sage's recording schedule remained blank, even after the lineup was initialized (i.e., nothing was listed as in the queue to record). That problem, too, was solved by waiting. Apparently Sage doesn't update its recording schedule immediately after a lineup modification or creation.

So all's well that end's well...I think. I can tell you, there were some pretty nail-biting moments in there while "nothing was happening" and there didn't seem to be any way to fix it!

Oops, I could have told you about the lineup copy not working when the original was deleted. I ran into that a while back ago.

No worries, that would have deprived me of the "joy" of discovery
