Automatically tuning Set Top Box from SageTV

I have an NTL Di-4000-N set top box (3 years old).

Has anybody successfully controlled this from SageTV (ie automating channel change)?

I've seen the links for RedEye and I believe you need to use Girder software to
send the commands from your SageTV PC.

I am using Sage 2.019 and PVR-350

Alternatively has anyone successfully tuned their Freeview box
using a similar technique?

Thanks in advance for any comments

Detail
All my Cable channels appear as Channel 52 to my Tuner on the PVR-350.
Do all Freeview boxes do something similar or do they appear as say channel 1..35 to the PVR?

I have an old Amstrad Sky Digital box. In order to get Sage Tv to change channel for me, I purchased the USB-UIRT from the SageTv site.

As long as theres a remote control for your box, I don't see why it shouldn't work the same. Using the remote control, you tell Sage what each number (from 0 - 9) is and then its ready. Tell sage what channel number on the box each channel is in channel setup - i.e. in Sky's case, BBC1 is 101, BBC2 is 102, etc.

Just remembered. In the channel set up wizard, you'll need to tell Sage that the digital box is going to change channel for you and not the PVR350 tuner. However, if you are using the RF lead to plug your digital box to your PVR 350 card, you may find that you'll need to change this to a scart connection.

I have a Grundig freeview box and Sage controls this no problem. It is possible to capture the IR commands for a Pace 4000 cable box but it is very difficult. I have them for a Pronto NG remote which I downloaded off the net. You capture IR with these in a similar way to Sage.
