Trouble with FX

Recently started having trouble recording FX (both HD and SD channels). Recordings only last a few seconds and stop ~70mb. Did they change their copy flags for Cablevision or something stupid?

Sounds like a copy protect flag to me. Most cable boxes have a hidden diagnostic info screen to show you stuff like that. At least the Motorola boxes I use to have did. You might want to do some snooping for your specific box.

What's your recording method? HD-PVR, SD Prime?

I have issues with FX too, but it's related to HD-PVR's and audio sync.

HDHomerun Prime. Pretty crappy if that's what they did. They don't even have on-demand streaming for cable customers like some of the other networks.

Oh if you gotta a Prime then you can check the CCI flag status when the channel is tuned via the web page to be sure. With the Prime's IP address, go to:

Go to http://x.x.x.x/status.html?page=summary

and click on the tuner in use: 0, 1 or 2.

I take it you don't have a cable card in there?

For FX and FX HD:

CCI Protection none

CGMS Protection protected-copyonce
