Just based on the few posts I've seen on Ubuntu and Cubox forums it seems that Linux video playback is sketchy, at best. Just about all of the posts I've seen where people have had playback success have been using XBMC, which you could do for much less money with a Raspberry Pi ...

The cubox-I and Rasberry Pi are ARM based, not x86 and unfortunately Sage includes native code.
But...Intel just announced this very interesting x86 board for $99: http://linuxgizmos.com/intel-unveils...-max-open-sbc/ Which seems more than capable of running the client/placeshifter. The $99 version includes single-core Atom E3815@1.46GHz, 1GB RAM, ethernet, micro HDMI, USB, MicroSD, and runs off 5V. Last edited by HKme; 04-01-2014 at 03:52 AM. |
