Managing multiple seamless branching movie versions

I'm looking for a method that allows Sage to list multiple movie versions (eg. theatrical, extended) in a normal view from a seamless branching source without duplicating the stream files. I would like a more elegant solution other then starting the longest version and then loading an alternate title. For example I would like "Aliens - Theatrical Cut" and "Aliens - Director's Cut" available from my normal movie view. I basically want a way to load the appropriate blu-ray playlist from the basic menu view.

I've tried creating a new BDMV folder with the appropriate playlist and using various links to the stream folder/files. However, while this works for playback on the Sage server, it does not work for extenders. I didn't think shortcuts would work, but I thought maybe hard links or symbolic links would (SPOILERS! -they don't). So...any suggestions?
