Programming USB-UIRT via SageTV 7

I am performing a fresh installation of SageTV 7. I have been a Sage user for about 6 years and have been using v6.6 for about 5 years with few or no issues. Since the beginning I have used the USB-UIRT to send IR commands to my STB (supplied via my cable company, Charter). The original was a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3200, and now I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8600HD, but the remote has stayed the same.

The last time I installed Sage (6.6), I "taught" my USB-UIRT the IR codes through Sage during setup. I am trying to do the same now, but nothing is happening. I select a command from the list (e.g., 3) and Sage brings up a popup window telling me to press the key/button I wish to assign. I point the remote at the USB-UIRT, and hold the corresponding button. However, the USB-UIRT light does not blink and there is no reaction from Sage. My only option is to click Cancel to close the popup window.

I can get the USB-UIRT to learn a code by using the lrnhelper program, but nothing is happening through Sage. I am using the latest driver (v2.06.01 for Vista) from the USB-UIRT website.

I did back up my entire SageTV program folder from my previous installation, so I have the ScientificAtlantaExplorer3200.ir file from the SageTV/Common/RemoteCodes/USB-UIRT Transceiver folder. I'm thinking I can just slip that file into the same folder of my new installation while Sage is shut down and then restart Sage. Is that a viable solution?

EDIT:
Ugh, never mind. I was just in the wrong spot. Since the above routine came right after I had selected "USB-UIRT + Any Remote," I thought that was the point to teach the IR codes. I realized after that the correct spot comes when setting up tuners. I would just delete this thread if I could, but I don't see an option for that. Sorry for jumping the gun.

I did have an odd thing happen, though. Sage asked me to enter the STB device, so I entered the name of my STB. When I clicked Continue, I was immediately taken to a screen that stated there was an error receiving the IR signal, which I had not even entered yet, and to hit Enter to continue. Hitting Enter looped me back to the same screen. I noticed Sage had created 2 .ir files in the RemoteCodes/USB-UIRT Transceiver directory, one with spaces in the name and the other without. Back in Sage, I hit the back button to find my Explorer 8600 now in the STB device list. I selected that and then my IR code teaching went smoothly. The file without spaces in the name was the one Sage used to store the info I entered. The file with spaces in the name was completely empty.
