Setting up Multi Tuners

Howdy,

I have looked for a FAQ regarding this, but could not find it.

What is the right order of doing things please?

I was going to install in this order:

P250 and drivers
Directx 9
Java
Sage

Make sure all is okay.

Then install USB2 and drivers, and config sage for the extra tuner

The order that worked for me was:

1) Java
2) DX-9
3) Sage
4) P250
5) Setup P250 into Sage
6) Repeat steps 4&5 for each additional tuner.

I don't have a USB2 tuner, yet, but I would connect, and install, them one at a time after the PVR-250s are installed.

I have both the USB2 and PVR250 working together. You want to look at the driver release dates of both devices and install the one with the older drivers first. This way the second one will not override common drivers with older files.

I installed the 250 first, all okay

Then I tried the USB2. The driver update I downloaded didnt work, so I used the ones on the CD.

Under device mangler it has the yellow circle of death

I have tried running the updater again, to no avail.

I have discovered that this dell machine has only usb 1, could that be the problem?

Thanks!

no that is not the problem you need to unplug it and runhcw.clear.exe and put a check in the search for conflicting infs and complete removal and then reboot
then plug in the usb2 after reboot and use the cd that came with the usb2 pvr and choose automatic installation in the new hardware wizard

as long as you do not get the yellow mark in the device manager update it then iwth the update.exe

Okay, have tried following your instructions exactly.

I get the following error at the end of the driver install:

This device cannot start (code 10)

try connecting the usb2 before installing the pvr 250
I do not knew why the pvr usb2 would not install
you have to use the CD(or download the CD from SHSpvr) I believe to install the base driver with that device and then you can update it with the exe
I know this type of thing has came up though before at SHSpvr.com/forum though

that may be a good place to start
since I do not have one
