That error occurs when there's no longer any data coming out of the MPEG2 card. It attempts to reset the hardware once, and if data still doesn't come out of the card, then it tells you to reboot. This occurs when your hardware is misbehaving.

I had this happen to me once on 1.2.8 and it wouldn't start up again. A reinstall didn't fix it either. I finally deleted the dat file and renamed the backup to dat and the problem went away. I guess that the dat file got corupted when this occured so sage wouldn't startup properly till it was replaced with the backup. So you could try that as well to see if it fixes it.

full uninstall and then reinstall worked ( i moved all the config files that get left behind... thats 3 times now i've lost my weeks worth of intelligent recording data.... having this and favourites in a seperate file that can be imported into a fresh install i think is pretty essential.. anything to protect it from the possible corruption that can occur... just sagedata.dat or something which is unlikely to corrupt... actually sagedata and sagefavourites would be great... i assume favourites as they are added directly by the user are quite static when you are not there wont be touched, so shouldnt be corrupted..
it does appear tho that your setup is corrupted following this message... and wouldn't you believe it my hardware is misbehaving again!!!!! ![]() I still wonder if its linked to my drive being setup for using 50gig when 50gig wasn't free... as in the other post i've submitted on that problem... thanks... at least the card hadn't gone pop as i initially worried ![]() |

I think it might have to do with your diskspace settings. What do you currently have setup for your video drives and how much space does each one have?

As i said in the other post about space settings.. i did wonder about this..
I have my main system drive on d: with near 2gig space... this got filled up once when the log files bloated... my one video drive is I: but due to a previous uninstall and falling behind in my watching of tv i had about 20-30gig of errant videos yet to be watched... I set the drive where i wanted it at 50gig total on the drive, even tho due to the errant file there was only 16gig free at the time... when i came back there were a really tiny amount of bytes left on the drive which made me wonder if it hadn't picked up on not running out of space and just recorded till it could record no longer... |
