Installing on Linux Mint

I've tried installing both the openGL and standard client on Linux Mint, but it aborts when trying to connect to the server. OpenJDK 1.7.0.79 is installed.
Before I troubleshoot further, is the error possible due to mismatched versions between the server and the Linux client?
Server - 9.0.0.3
Client - 9.0.0.4

The server is busy and I cannot upgrade the JAR file for a few hours...

The version shouldn't matter. Are you running a 64bit system with 64bit java, etc. The packages that I posted were 64bit packages, so you'd need 64bit java, etc.

Linux Mint 17, built on Ubuntu 14.04.2

Java version is 64 bit

I couldn't find any SageTV specific logs in either the /opt/sagetv/client folder or the /var/logs path. Any place specific I should look?

The miniclient logs are in /tmp/miniclient.log.

No... I haven't actually tried Java 7, yet... not for the mini client. I run my sage server on java 7, though.

Afeter looking at the log I found this error message at the end of the file
"intel_do_flush_locked failed no such file or directory". A quick google and I added the SageTVPlaceshifter.properties file to /opt/sagetv/client/ with the following text to bypass openGL.
Code:
xvmc=true
opengl=false
Works now. A few flashes during playback, but now running on an older Dell laptop (Latitude E6400)
