Thanks Fuzzy. HD is selected in Playon. If I select to record via Playon, the resulting video is 1280x720 and Gemstone displays that on playback. Also if I use the Roku Playon app the display is HD. So all seems to be HD except for the Sage streaming. I'm using an HD300 as well as a client PC. They both display the same in Gemstone. I'm unsure if these make a difference, but Playon is installed on a different PC than Sage. All the Sage plugins and dependencies are up to date. The Playon plugin is installed for the HD300, and on the client, but not the server client.

I'm on SageTV V7.1.9.256, Java 1.7.0_51, STV V7.1.9.12

For the files I meant the downloaded video file from PlayonPlaylater. I do most stuff now using PlayLater and just use the Sage PlayOn interface to get there and watch.

Thanks! Yeah, the playlater recordings are in HD. It's just my live streaming that does not do HD.

I upgraded to v4 and I have been very pleased. I honestly don't know how many features were there already, but the new interface makes it immensely easy. I have subscriptions set up for some of my kids favorite shows and it should record new episodes when posted (fingers crossed, the only add once a week, and haven't yet). But the thing I never tried before which works really well is "Playmark". I know they had it before but I never tried it. I found a website called "shareTV" (sharetv.com) and it actually has some stuff for free that I haven't seen anywhere else... it appears to be pulling it from Hulu Plus (which I don't have) but streaming it free. Anyway, Playmark worked perfectly - I pulled up the episode, marked it, and it started recording. Did it with multiple more episodes and they all queued. Checked later and they were all recorded and available to watch in Sage.

Yup. I really, REALLY like the new version. The only thing missing for me is 5.1. Otherwise the convenience is great.

I purchased the $19.99 "lifetime" license on 4/25/15. Previous posts seem to indicate that I can use this for PlayOn version 4. Is that correct?

I did. I had the lifetime HD license and it just worked. And I am seriously digging P4. Way better.

The only thing I wish it had was some sort of web interface, or something to allow access from elsewhere on the network. I'd love to be able to have my wife open a webpage and pick the stuff she wants to mark/record without having to go through me. Right now PlayOn is installed on my server, which requires RDP to do anything. Not very WAF.

Funny, I installed that last night and it couldn't find the server on the network. And there doesn't seem to be any way to manually set it. All you can do is keep retrying. And the "Learn More" button goes to a 404 page

But I went in just now and had it retry 3 or 4 times and it found it. Go figure.

But thanks! You prompted me to play with it some more.

Maybe my next plugin .....

There is so much content on the web, I'd like to see more incorporated into Sage.

BTW - I installed the new version and it did work. It asked me to log on to my PlayOn web account and then it just worked.

As long as I have had Playon it has had a web interface, the new version still does, on my network I enter http//:myServerIP:54479 and it brings up the playon web interface. I think last time I posted this info not everybody could get it working using :54479 so your network may vary.

I remembered the web interface, but did't remember a record option. The new one does though. It actually looks pretty much exactly like the android app.

I believe it required Playlater installed to have the record option, the IOS app also looks the same as the web page.

I was expecting it to record in HD now in SageTV but I guess that will come later.
I also have Playon/Playlater - are you saying that if I update to v4 my lifetime license will stay lifetime? Also, their site says that it requires Windows 8 or later, but when I asked their Support email about it they said Win7 (which is what I have on the PC that runs both Sage and PlayON/Later) is still supported. Can you confirm either or both of those? I haven't transferred my account/updated yet, and want to make sure I won't run into any difficulties.

Thanks

I have it running on a Windows 7 PC. And it was a lifetime license with HD. And it updated just fine. It's a really great upgrade.

Same for me. Win7 with the lifetime PlayOn/PlayLater license.

Thanks - another question: do the same plugins and scripts work in the new version?

Every thing I had installed works. I can't speak to the rest though.
