I can second that everything still seems to work after the update to V4. I had an original lifetime playon license (no HD), so I am super happy to have these additional features unlocked on my original license with no additional cost.

Perhaps not the best place for this, but I've started using the PlayOn plugin again. I've always wondered if it's possible to change from the default thumbnail view (2x3) to some other view (like list view or something that fits more than 6 elements on the screen). I've searched high and low for how to change these view but haven't been able to figure it out. Can anyone help?

I'm sure that hard coded in the Playon Plugin. And that hasn't been touched in quite some time.
Edit to add: I would LOVE to see that as a changeable item as well. In fact, being able to use a Gemstone flow would be awesome. |

The Phoenix/Gemstone views essentially make up a virtual file system tree, and it might be able to feed them the PlayOn items - the problem is likely that there's no mediafile object tied to the PlayOn items, so I'm not sure how the front end would handle play requests and such. Would be quite a bit of work I'm guessing.

That's good news. Did you uninstall the old version and then install the new version, or can both exist side-by-side? And PlayOn is installed on your SageTV server I imagine?

Playon doesn't let you do both side by side. It uninstalls the old and then installs the new. All settings remain through the process.

I've had lifetime for a while but paid a small upgrade fee ($5?) a while back for HD, and when I did that, it switched me from the 16- or 20-digit license key to just a username and password. If you have that, it works flawlessly with v4, just log in and it works. If you still have the old license key version, there is a description a few pages back in this thread that tells how to input that.
So far, every plugin/script I typically use has worked in v4 and v4 still works in Sage - in fact, I think it's a little snappier. However, I had the feeling that PlayOn was waning a bit in script writing/support (a few years ago playonplugins.com was buzzing, lately it's been dead)... and thus there seem to be a lot of scripts that just don't work anymore, and the authors are probably gone from the forum. I'm hoping v4 will renew interest in the same way that Sage Open Source woke this place back up.

First step is to verify that you can reach it in PlayOn.

no problem there, however, I hadn't updated to version 4. Did that, and at least I could see all the items in my wish list. Now, if only I could get them to play without creating a "not on server" error (I think that's the error).
