Closed Captions and Ceton

I can't figure out how to get closed captions to display and not sure what I'm missing. I'm using Microsoft DTV-DVD Decoder (EVR) but have tried Nvidia Purevideo (VMR9) too. I've set comskip to produce SMI files and have verified those have captions in them. I've selected both CC1 and CC2 options during playback but nothing shows. What am I missing here?

You signature show that your running SageTV 6, if you are still running 6 then you will need to enable it in SageTV properties file

SageTV 7+ should have CC already enabled but just need to toggle it on in the menu

AIf you are sure you have CC enabled then go to this website and download the CC extractor. Execute it on one of your recording file and look in the text file it created after it finished. If you see CC in it then your tuners are outputting CC but if it blank then your tuners are not supporting CC or CC nor enabled on it.

One thing I had noticed is that when I was running v7, both closed captioning and DXVA acceleration for the decoder were enabled. After upgrading to v9, however, neither of these things work.

It's certainly not anything on Ceton's side because the last new drivers for the tuner I'm using were in 2013, and I've actually been on a beta driver that got released after Windows 8 came out.

I'm running V9 (open source). Sadly I can't for the life of me figure out how to change my signature - it's way out of date. I have captions turned on and I've produced .smi files during comskip that have output, but there's not much there so I'll try CC extractor.
I'm running a 6 tuner Ceton.

I'm running a 6 tuner Ceton.
To update signature - click on User CP in the upper left side of the menu bar then click on Edit Signature

V9? Gee I hope they didn't removed the CC feature in V9 then. I am still running v7

Do try the CC extractor and report back result.

Thank you
Bill

I'm watching The Weather Channel HD with working captions right now, which can only tune via Ceton on my system. Of course I haven't updated from 9.0.1.3 so it could be a more recent issue.

CCExtract and Comskip produce files, but when I look at them there's little or nothing there, so that explains that.
