Favorites Not Automatically Scheduled

I switched from regular registered SageTV to Sage Open Source. I am running 9.0.4.220 on Windows as a service. EPG data is updating just fine.

Favorites are not being scheduled automatically. If I stop and restart the service, everything is scheduled right away. But then, no updates until I restart again.

Besides following the upgrade instructions (only one Lucene file), I also set limited_carny_init=true because when I switched to Open Source, it took forever to start up.

Any ideas?

No ideas currently...post your log files from the server (sagetv_x.txt) when this happens and we can take a look at what's going on.

@jonnydeath Did you ever figure this issue out? Last night I noticed that my "scheduled recordings" list was looking rather short. No favorites are being schedule past the initial 2 week period when I set them up. Even if I stop/start the service I still do not get any shows scheduled. EPG data looks like fine.

Turned on the Debug Logging last night and will post the results this evening when I get home.

Look through the log and I no not see anything the jumps out as an Error. However, there appear to be a lot of items that are not in my favorites. Attached is the EPG and Scheduler items from when I restarted the server service.

I had uninstalled Sage V7. Renamed the remaining installation directory (Sage-OLD).

Installed with the Windows Installer running on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

-smak

I feel like I saw something like this before SageTV went open source and it was very concerning. I fixed it for myself by dialing back the number of days to schedule from 14 to 8. I noticed that when I removed certain favorites (not the same ones each time) the favorite scheduling returned (when I was still using 14 days). I have not changed it back since and I no longer have this problem.

I can't confirm entirely that it was a pattern, but it seemed like the favorites causing the problems were shows that had a lot of airings listed over the 14 days of guide data. One of the shows was over 4 pages worth of airings on the web interface.

EnterNoEscape thanks for the thoughts. I tried them out but it still did not work.

However, I found the issue with the scheduling. I was incorrect about the guide data. The data seems to run out tomorrow about 7pm. I saw data on Tuesday and thought I was good

Now to track down that issue.

I have entered my license key and that appears to have worked on the initial setup. Need to figure out where that is failing.

That's definitely a different issue if you are short on guide data.

This post tells you how to reset things so it will do a full download.

Thanks for the link. I have everything worked out for the moment. I deleted all my sources and re-added them. That seems to have updated the EPG for now. I will be keeping a close eye on it.

I have not figured it out yet. I deleted my win.biz and reimported the favorites via xml. This fixed the issue with limited_carney_init needing to be true. I am giving it a few days of not restarting the service before I post logs.

Edit: everything is fine now. Rebuilding win.biz seemed to do the trick
