Mini client on Shield TV won't connect to server

Hi....I'm a brand new user to SageTV and downloaded the server to my Win7 machine today. It seems to be up and running perfectly. I installed the mini client apk on my Shield TV today as well. When I open the mini client, it recognizes the SageTV server on my home network immediately, but when I try to connect, it gives me an unable to connect message and then the app crashes. Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks.

Running SageTV v9 on Windows 7
Sage mini client v1.0 RC5 on ShieldTV

I'll need to see the application log and/or the server log to know anything. Right now, I know that RC5 works on the Shield (since that's what I use). When I have seen an unable to connect message, it's been because the server has aborted the connection. In some cases i've seen it happen if the server gets out of memory.

Make sure you enabled the server function on the server. I think it should have asked during the setup wizard, but it should be under Setup. I assume it is since the client can see it, but it's good to double check.

Thanks guys. A quick reboot of the server seemed to do the trick. Whatever was causing the issue was remedied by the reboot. On another note, I'm not getting DD 5.1 passthrough on the mini client, just PCM. Is this par for the course, or am I missing something?

The IJKPlayer is only capable of PCM as of now . The Exo Player supposedly supports DD passthrough, but I get no sound at all when I use this player on the Shield. YMMV since I am using a USB optical adapter to send sound to my old receiver. I do get DD passthrough in Kodi on the Shield however.

Emby (VLC) has passthrough on my SHIELD.
