Suggestion for 'sdepg' user guide
New to SageTV. Set up V9 on Windows system. HDHomerun
Everything fine, except spending a long time trying to get Schedules Direct Plugin to work - followed directions in 'sdepg' user guide explicitly. In web interface SD and sdepg logs kept getting "Invalid username or token has expired." Searching this forum I found a few references to this issue with no clear resolution except submit a ticket to Schedules Direct. Problem was I had not checked 'sagetv-sdepg' in the Approved Apps for my Schedules Direct account by clicking on my Schedules Direct Account Details. To avoid this frustration for new SageTV users I highly recommend including this information in the 'sdepg' user guide posted by Derek Battams (last edit Nov 3, 2015). Thanks to a vibrant SageTV community for a great system and its support. Peter Henderson |

That wouldn't have been the issue; the type of application you select in the Schedules Direct website setup is just for us to know where our users are coming from.
If the EPG program is based off of slugger's grabber, then once you've created your account, forget the website even exists unless you're opening a trouble ticket or renewing your account. The website is for the legacy XML service, and slugger's grabber uses our JSON service, which isn't configured via the website. |

I recently setup `sdepg` and ran into this same issue.
"Invalid username or token has expired." I suspect it maybe problematic using numerals in the password for Schedules Direct. I went through 2 passwords with numerals in them before using a password without numerals. I was finally successful when I used a password without any numerals. I was sort-of able to verify this by looking in the Sage.Properties files and looking at the username and password for Schedules Direct. It was never correct when I used a numeral but it was fine when I didn't use a numeral. I believe the issue is how Sage handles input in some fields. I have seen this on other screens where inputing text is done using a `telephone` interface. Example, to get the numeral 2 - the first press gives `A`, the second press gives `B`, the third press gives `C`, the fourth press gives `2`. The user never knows what the characters are since this is a blind input field because it's for a password. Another thing to consider is setting up the lineup(s). If you have never used Schedules Direct then following the instructions is fine. However, if you have been using Schedules Direct with another DVR/PVR software and already have lineup(s) setup, you most likely can skip that part of the instructions. (In my case I use WMC7 for recording DRM content and alrady setup SD with EPG123). These are my observations, YMMV.

I realize this thread is several months old, but I may have found the solution to the problem. I was running into the same issue, and found that you must re-enter your SD username and password on the plugin configuration on the Web UI for it to stick. So, in the Web UI go to SageTV--->Plugin Manager---> Configure Plugin and under Schedules Direct Plugin, you must RE-Enter your login credentials (even if you entered them in the plugin configuration in SageTV). That should do the trick.
