debian 8?

At the risk of asking something that's likely been asked before (but I did try to search for the answer, honest )...

Has anyone successfully installed Sage v9 on debian 8? I know Ubuntu is based on debian, but, for whatever reason, I've been using "plain" debian for a number of years, so I'd like to stick with it if possible.

I don't think you'll have any issues... You can always go with Docker and run it there... or give SageWisdom's Linux Install script a go... or if you are technical enough... you can look at what the Docker commands are doing and scripts in

https://github.com/stuckless/sagetv-...er/sagetv-base
https://github.com/stuckless/sagetv-...v-server-java8

Specifically the Dockerfile files in each since that will tell you packages and repos that are needed for various things (hopefully normal debian would have those).

And then look at the various *.sh files.

But, not sure the native comkskip will work... so, might be a bit of work, but I do think it'll all work.

Thanx for the quick reply.

Not having comskip working is not an issue...as I think my wife and I are the only Sage users on the planet who have never used it
